Traditionally, employers devote large chunks of their budget to train their employees with the right level of IQ to help them boost their interpersonal skills. The skills help them to feel good with their colleagues, with their customers and with their stakeholders. However, with the growing awareness of the importance of Emotional Intelligence (EI) in personal performance management, who will be paying employees to boost their intrapersonal skills? These skills make people feel good, first, with themselves before they can feel good with others.
